Dr. Kathy James
 

KATHY SHADLE JAMES is a professor, nurse practitioner, researcher, speaker and writer. She has a doctorate in nursing science and is a family and women’s health nurse practitioner. 

An Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of San Diego,  Dr. James has had a private counseling practice, for 20 years, treating overweight children and adults. She has published numerous articles and contributed to texts on family nutrition and adolescent obesity. 

Dr. James, an internationally acclaimed expert on adolescent- obesity and nutrition, has been a featured speaker on television and radio.

In 2003, she received the Public Health Championship Award for her commitment to obesity care.  

Dr. James has first hand experience on obesity. Twenty years ago she lost 60 pounds. She’s kept the weight off with the practical and informative tips she shares in this book.
